The FDA-approved prescription medication, Zoloft and Paxil are like a Band-Aid approach to mental health problems. It is putting Band-Aids on broken bones.

Medication is like a life jacket. Even Olympic swimmers need a lift jacket when swimming in the middle of the ocean. Medication is needed at times, and very helpful but it is not addressing or healing the problem. It is just a temporary solution. Yes, it will provide relief temporarily but over time, the problem will continue to exist and get worse

EMDR therapy contrasts this with real healing by addressing the root problem: trying to process trauma or emotions which often leads them to ineffective coping mechanisms resulting in more harm than good over time if left unchecked.
